01Information We Collect
When you create an account and use the App, we collect:
- Account credentials
- your email address and password, used to sign you in.
- Profile information
- your chosen username, display name, membership number, point total, affiliation status, species/language flavor fields, and whether you've opted in to receive newsletter emails.
- Photo
- if you choose to add a membership photo, we store the image you select or capture.
- Activity submissions
- the descriptions and details you submit when requesting points for an activity.
- Exigent Circumstance requests
- free-text answers you provide (who was involved, what happened, where, when, and why), which may include names or details about other people. Only submit information about others that you have a right to share.
- Contact submissions
- if you use "Contact the Church," we collect your account email, the name and message you provide, the category you select, and any file you optionally attach.
- Criticality Assessment results
- our onboarding assessment records your answers, a recitation performance score, and readings from your device's motion, orientation, and pressure sensors during the assessment. If you complete the voice-recitation step, your device analyzes your voice's pitch and volume characteristics on the device itself — we never receive or store the audio recording — and the resulting numeric analysis (not a recording) is saved with your assessment and included in the report we generate for you. We also record basic timing/interaction events (such as which step you're on and when) to build that report and to understand how the assessment is used.
- Location
- some features (the Firmament star chart, and the Criticality Assessment's ambient-conditions reading) ask for your device's location. It's used in the moment to power that feature — for the star chart, entirely on your device; for the ambient-conditions reading, your coordinates are sent to a weather-lookup service (see below) to fetch local conditions — and is not stored by us afterward.
02How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account and membership profile.
- To review and process the activities and requests you submit.
- To generate your Criticality Assessment report and deliver it to you.
- To respond to messages you send us through "Contact the Church."
- To send you transactional emails (such as account verification, Exigent Circumstance status, and your assessment report) and, if you opt in, our newsletter.
We do not sell your information or use it for advertising, and the App contains no ads or third-party trackers.
03Who We Share Information With
We use the following third-party service providers to operate the App. Each processes data only as needed to provide their service to us:
Supabase
Database, storage, and authenticationHosts our database, file storage, and account authentication.
Resend
Transactional email deliveryDelivers transactional emails on our behalf, including account verification, Exigent Circumstance status, Contact the Church correspondence, and your Criticality Assessment report.
Open-Meteo
Weather-data lookupA weather-data lookup service. If you use the Criticality Assessment's ambient-conditions reading, your device's coordinates at that moment are sent to Open-Meteo to retrieve local conditions. We do not store these coordinates, and Open-Meteo does not receive your name, email, or any other identifying information from us.
We do not share your information with any other third party except where required by law.
04Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You may permanently delete your account at any time from within the App, under Settings → “Excommunication (Delete Account).”
Doing so permanently and irreversibly deletes your account, profile, photo, points, membership number, assessment results and reports, and all activity, Contact the Church, and Exigent Circumstance submissions. This cannot be undone, and there is no way to recover the data afterward.
05Security
Passwords are never stored in plain text — authentication is handled by Supabase, which stores credentials in hashed form. Data is encrypted in transit using standard TLS/HTTPS, and files such as your membership photo are kept in private storage, never publicly accessible.
06Your Rights
You can view and edit your profile information at any time from within the App. To request a copy of your data, or if you have any other question about how your information is handled, contact us using the details below.
07Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
